THE CRUCIFIED (USA/CA)

Christian Crossover Thrashers THE CRUCIFIED started life as a straightforward Punk act but evolved into Thrash / Hardcore territory. Originally formed in 1984 as KGB (kids in God's blessings) with Wayne Stonecifer on vocals and practicing out of Jim Chaffin's garage. The group made their entrance with the 1987 demo 'Take Up Your Cross', the band at this point comprising of vocalist Marc Cooksey, guitarist Greg Minier, bassist Trevor Palmer and drummer Jim Chaffin. The 'Nailed' tape followed which saw THE CRUCIFIED with two new faces- vocalist Mark Saloman and bassist Mark Johnson. Finally a live tape surfaced dubbed 'Live At The New Order', by this juncture Johnson had made way for Jeff Bellew. Signing to the Narrowpath label THE CRUCIFIED issued the eponymous inaugural album in 1988.
