NECROPHOBIC (SWEDEN)

Necrophobic was formed in Stockholm, Sweden the year 1989 by guitarist David Parland and drummer Joakim Sterner to give the world a band that created unholy death metal. During the »underground years« 1990-1992, the band build up a great reputation with the demo tapes »Slow Asphyxiation« (1990) and »Unholy Prophecies« (1991). The great sales of these releases proved that Necrophobic was not »just another band«. NECROPHOBIC's first commercial release came with an EP titled 'The Call' on U.S. label Wild Rags Records that featured ex-CREMATORY vocalist Stefan Harrvik. A track also followed on a compilation album on Witchhunt Records. The band would then contract to the Black Mark Production label for a run of albums, commencing with 'The Nocturnal Silence' in 1993. David also started DARK FUNERAL in 1993.
