NARCOLEPSY (USA/GA)

In Fall of 1993, Craig Stadler started NARCOLEPSY in a garage with vocalist Sam Bahktavar, bassist Mike Cline, and Guitarist Rick Mehrebian. Not knowing a lot about Death Metal and being latecomers in the scene, they pushed forward in writing and communicating with the underground scene and in 1994, they recorded AMNIOTIC BAND SYNDROME, over 1500 copies were sold and distributed. In late 1994, when Sam became a devout Christian, a decision was made to go separate ways. Mike Cline took over as vocalist, and a variable assortment of bassists were to follow. Then, in 1995, guitarist Thomas Barnwell joined just before recording JESUS FUCK. A mixture of brutal lyrics concerning the sodomizing of Jesus, a retard molesting Nun, “NecroIncest”, “Masturbating with the Hands of God”, and simply put “Cremating Christ” provided for an offensive brutal combination with a statement along with experimental noisecore using a Banjo and blues riffs. In 1996, Rick Mehrebian left because of personal and musical differences. Mike Cline was the next to follow when he began to show signs of drug abuse and violence. In 1996 bassist Alan Bivens (ex DISEMBOWELL) joined with a very serious and professional outlook which was perfect for their future. From late 1996-1997 Craig, Thomas, and Alan continued to look for that perfect vocalist to match talent, dedication and brutality to complete NARCOLEPSY. By this time NARCOLEPSY demos were reviewed in over 200 zines, played on 40 radio stations worldwide and countless demo trades, and established themselves on the World Wide Web (Internet).
