INCANTATION (USA/NY)

Incantation was formed in 1989 by John McEntee and Paul Ledney, after Paul's brief time in Revenant with John. Both not satisfied with the direction Revenant was taking, they chose to form a group that would more suit their blasphemous concepts and musical brutality. Soon after Aragon Amori joined on Bass and Brett Mackowski on guitar. This line-up would record one rehearsal demo in 1990, featuring early versions of 'Unholy Massacre' and 'Profanation' which have different lyrical content to the later more familiar versions. Paul, Brett and Aragon departed Incantation to form Profanatica, a band that would pave the way for the first wave of 90's black metal. Ronnie Deo joined Incantation in 1990, soon followed by Sal Seijo and Peter Barnevic from the band Decay. Around this time John began playing guitar for Mortician to help out fellow friend Will Rahmer, until a permanent guitarist could be found. In return Will offered his vocal talents to Incantation. This line up would record Incantations first official demo, entitled 'Demo#1'. Soon after the 'Entrantment of Evil' 7" EP was recorded on Seraphic Decay Records...
